Ford Edge Titanum Plus 2016

Hi everyone,

I’m experiencing a very strange issue with my car that no mechanic I’ve been to could solve, and I’m wondering if anyone here has come across it.

I have a 2016 Ford Edge Titanium Plus with 82,000 km, fully serviced on time and well maintained.

A few months ago, a strange problem started:
When I’m in heavy traffic or slowing down to a full stop, the car sometimes jerks.

This only happens if the downshift occurs at around 2,500 RPM or higher. If the shift happens below 2,000 RPM, it’s completely smooth.

I took the car to a professional mechanic who checked the transmission and did a test drive. He said everything was fine with the transmission.

I then tried resetting the adaptive learning (the system that learns the driver’s habits), and the issue disappeared for a while—but then came back again.

It doesn’t always happen, only occasionally. Transmission fluid has been replaced on time, so it’s not overdue maintenance.

Some people told me this is a known quirk with Ford transmissions and that I should just live with it, since fixing it could be costly. I even found owners abroad describing the exact same issue with the Edge.

Has anyone here experienced this problem as well?

Thanks in advance!
