2-3 shift in transmission is hard

Newbie here so bare with me. I just got a 17 Titanium with awd and 2.0 ecoboost. The car is really nice but I have found one issue. The 2-3 shift seems like it delays for a split second then shifts hard (reminds me of a hot rod with a shift kit in it except for the delay). Has anyone run into this and have a fix?
