It's new water pump time on the Mustang, so I thought since I am opting for the Duralast Heavy Duty pump - I thought I would show the differences. First off, it is made in China. That really is a sore spot for me - and if this thing doesn't perform, you can bet your butt it's coming back off.
Upon first glance, it really looks like a decent pump. I took a couple of photos to share:
For comparison's sake... this is the factory impeller design:
This is the Duralst HD unit's impeller:
I was asked to get some depth measurements. I measured 5 13/16". Spec says 5 3/4" - so I hope I don't have an issue. I measured with the backing plate and gasket on.
